Porsche Destination Charging: Mish and Kirk venture to The Louise in the Barossa Valley, South Australia

With Porsche installing destination charging stations in some of the most iconic spots around South Australia recently, we thought it was the perfect time to take a road trip to the Barossa Valley!

With a Porsche Destination Charger located right at The Louise, our lunch-stop was a no-brainer. We were lucky enough to take the Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo out for the day, where we drove from Adelaide up to one of our favourite wine regions, making our way through the vineyards of the Barossa Valley!

The first thing we noticed when jumping into the Taycan was the comfortable seats (with both seat coolers AND heaters, so good), and the panoramic glass roof, which made the inside of the vehicle feel really spacious and open.

It was also such an effortless and smooth car to drive. The electric motors meant that it was incredibly responsive (it can go from 0-100 km’s per hour in literally 4 seconds!) with both acceleration and slowing down, while still feeling so very controlled and safe while behind the wheel.

We were able to park the car and easily plug into the charging port from the Porsche Destination Charging station within minutes of arriving. Whilst our Taycan 4S Cross Turismo’s batteries were re-charging, we went for a wander around the grounds of the Louise, soaked up some sunshine by their pool, and then made our way into their restaurant for some lunch.

The Appellation restaurant has just recently been renovated. Large glass windows look out over the rolling hills and vineyards. It was literally the most picturesque and relaxing scenery to enjoy some food and a coffee.

Now that we had a fully re-charged battery, it was time to hit the road again and get back in our wheels!

Another awesome feature of the Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo is it’s off-road capability. With just a touch of a button via the display-panel on the centre dash, we were able to lift the chassis within a matter of seconds, in order to comfortably drive down a dirt road and off-road view-spot.

We headed off-road to a quiet spot between the palms to watch the sunset, before lowering the Taycan once again for our drive home.

We had some bad weather and stormy wet skies on the drive home, but the Taycan 4S Cross Turismo tackled this amazingly, and we felt so stable and safe with the car hugging the road so smoothly.

Electro-mobility and sustainability is the way of the future, it’s so great to see Porsche paving the way with its Porsche Destination Charging station installations around South Australia, and we’re excited for it!
