Fuelled by adventure: Episode 2

The Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo stretches its electric capacity across the Outback’s wide open landscape, proving its adventure credentials span well beyond city limits.

In part two of the 5,000 kilometre Darwin to Bondi Electric Road Trip, the Porsche Taycan 4S Cross Turismo heads south towards Australia’s ancient Red Centre, stopping at Karlu, the symbol of Outback Australia nicknamed the Devils Marbles.

The trek traces the path from Birdsville’s colossal sand dune known as Big Red through to Betoota on the dusty Diamantina before Kane and Pia Muehlenbeck take the wheel in Longreach, Central West Queensland. The adventure-loving pair try their hand at whip cracking followed by a helicopter trip to the Longreach solar farm before stopping at the Stockman’s Hall of Fame to pay tribute to Australia’s Outback trailblazers.

Watch as the all-electric Taycan 4S Cross Turismo deploys the best of its 93.4 kWh battery technology and 350 kW of overboost power as it charges through the Mars-red dust of inland Australia, and discover why sleeping on the roof of a Porsche Taycan is the best way to enjoy the night-sky stars in the Outback.
