Porsche proudly returned as Official Automotive Partner of the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS for the third consecutive year, bringing the all-electric Macan and all-electric Taycan for course- and lead-car duties as well as an assemblage of interactive events and displays for guests, runners and fans to enjoy.
Now officially a member of the seven Abbott World Marathon Majors, the TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS is a World Athletics Platinum Label marathon, and the sole remaining legacy event from the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
Leading the field this year was the new Porsche Macan, the first all-electric SUV from Porsche, giving competitors in the event’s four premier categories – Elite Men’s, Elite Women’s, Elite Men’s Wheelchair and Elite Women’s Wheelchair – a fresh leader to follow.
“Porsche and endurance racing go hand-in-hand,” said Daniel Schmollinger,” speaking at the Sydney Opera House forecourt at the end of this year’s race. “Like the all-electric Macan, marathon running demands the ideal blend of pace, precision and purpose.”
Porsche’s program of events this weekend reflected sport’s ability to bring people together.
“The first Porsche TCS Sydney Marathon Experience was very successful, and a memorable way for guests to prepare for Sunday’s race in a VIP luxury environment. We’re already receiving requests to join next year’s event, so now is the time to register your interest if you’re keen to join us in 2026.
“Porsche and endurance racing go hand-in-hand." Daniel Schmollinger, CEO and Managing Director, Porsche Cars Australia
“The Porsche Run Pit Stop also enjoyed a wonderful reception at the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show Presented by ASICS. Exploring the new Porsche Macan at our interactive exhibition was one of the most popular activities.”
Record-setting performance
Hailemaryam Kiros from Ethiopia won this year’s Men’s marathon, shaving 12 seconds from last year’s race record in the process. Dutch runner Sifan Hassan was the winner of the Women’s marathon. Taking the win in this year’s Men’s Wheelchair category was Marcel Hug from Switzerland, with America’s Susannah Scaroni winning the Women’s Wheelchair race.
Around 35,000 participants competed in this year’s event, which was run under clear skies and an atmosphere of celebration and fun.
The TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS is Australia’s largest marathon and is the only Abbott World Marathon Major in the southern hemisphere.

Harbourside racecourse
Known as one of the world’s most spectacular marathons, Sunday’s racing began in North Sydney at the same starting location for the Sydney 2000 Olympics marathon 25 years earlier. From here, competitors crossed the Sydney Harbour Bridge and then made their way to Darling Harbour before looping around Pyrmont and then up to picturesque Hyde Park. The climb towards Oxford Street took competitors towards Kingsford – the full marathon’s halfway point – before a switch-back towards Moore Park and a lap of Centennial Park. It was then down towards Sydney Harbour and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, before a return loop and towards the finish at Sydney’s world-famous Opera House.
Porsche’s program of events this weekend reflected sport’s ability to bring people together.

The Walk-Off and Recovery Village in the Domain gave competitors the opportunity to cool down and then reunite with family and friends and enjoy some post-race time in the Sponsor Zone with Porsche.
With more than 50 activation zones along the full 42.195-kilometre course, competitors and spectators enjoyed a party-like atmosphere from the start to the finish.
Porsche powers performance with William Goodge
Joining Porsche for this year’s TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS was English ultra runner and endurance athlete William Goodge.
Supported by Porsche, Goodge joined the busy field in Sydney to add this event to his tally of extraordinary athletic feats, which includes running from Cottesloe Beach in Perth to Bondi Beach in Sydney in a record-setting 34 days.
Goodge also joined guests at the Porsche Sydney Marathon Experience, offering insights and inspiration for Sunday’s 42-kilometre race.
“Running a marathon is always a test of mind, body and spirit,” he said.

Porsche Sydney Marathon Experience
This year, Porsche launched the Porsche TSC Sydney Marathon Experience, a curated four-day / three-night VIP luxury program for marathon entrants.
Daniel Schmollinger, Porsche Cars Australia’s CEO and Managing Director, welcomed guests alongside Special Guest speaker Olympic Marathon athlete Mo’ath Alkhawaldeh.
This luxury program offered guests an optimal pre-race preparation program for both mind and body. It included three nights’ luxury accommodation at the W Sydney hotel, guaranteed entry to the 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon (for guests’ preferred race distances, whether 42.195 kilometres or 10 kilometres) and hosted transport to the marathon race-start precinct. It also provided Porsche team merchandise, VIP hospitality and premium dining experiences.
The pre- and post-race refuel kits, expert-led wellness session and three-kilometre Guided Harbour Shakeout Run to the Opera House on Saturday helped keep guests in ideal condition during the weekend.
There was also an exclusive Post-Race Celebration Dinner to cap the weekend’s excitement.
Places were limited for the Porsche TSC Sydney Marathon Experience and they sold out quickly. Anyone interested in joining the 2026 Porsche TSC Sydney Marathon Experience can register at this link.
Running Expo
Running fans enjoyed the excitement of Porsche away from the marathon course at the TCS Sydney Marathon Running Show Presented by ASICS, Austraia’s biggest running expo, which was open from 28 – 30 August. The Porsche Run Pit Stop was one of the most popular destinations among the expo’s 50 participating exhibitors, event partners and charities at Sydney’s International Convention Centre.
The Porsche Run Pit Stop offered visitors the chance to get up close to the Porsche Macan and discover first-hand Porsche’s sporting nature. It was also an opportunity to capture a photo with the Marathon’s lead car.
