Winning streak: Bespoke with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur

This Grello-inspired 911 Carrera GTS from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur is a bold local tribute that proves Green means much more than Go.

A battlefield can hide any number of threats. Desperate combatants anxious to find an advantage can suddenly appear out of the scenery, unleashing frantic tactics and wild manoeuvres that can determine success or failure in the time it takes to read this sentence. Thanks to the effectiveness of camouflage, the suddenness of an enemy warrior’s appearance can often be as surprising as the result of their attack, which is why most combat forces always seek to blend in with their surroundings.

Camouflage may offer an edge in battle - but Manthey-Racing never cared for blending in. In fact, the highly successful racing team from Germany’s lush Eifel region is in no hurry to turn down the visual volume. Their fluorescent green and yellow Porsche 911 GT3 R race cars are impossible to miss, earning them the fan-bestowed nickname “Grello”- a fusion of green and yellow that now signals speed, precision, and dominance.

The team’s fluorescent Porsche racers are regular front-runners at the world’s most fearsome endurance events, including Australia’s Bathurst 12-Hour and the famous Nürburgring 24-Hours, an Everest-level challenge Manthey-Racing has won a record seven times and an event Australian Porsche works racing driver Matt Campbell describes as “the craziest endurance race in the world.”

The green-and-yellow team’s CV is quite the honour roll. It includes five class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, multiple successes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the triple crown in the 2023 DTM Championship, where they secured the Drivers’,  Teams’ and Manufacturers’ titles for Porsche.

Enduring tribute

Matt Campbell has twice conquered the annual Bathurst enduro for sports cars in a Porsche 911 R, most recently in Manthey-Racing colours in 2024.

“The Bathurst 12-Hour holds a very special place in my heart,” he says, speaking about the only home race he can currently squeeze into his busy international driving schedule with Porsche. He says his 2024 victory was especially memorable, thanks in part to his car’s battle colours on that long Sunday in February last year. “It’s always a pinch-me moment when I get the opportunity to race in the famous Grello colours. It’s the most recognised GT3 livery in the world.”

Inspired by Matt’s second Bathurst victory, Porsche Cars Australia has created a Grello-styled, one-off 911 Carrera GTS in a collaboration with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. The car glows with an array of personalised and bespoke features created via the Porsche Sonderwunsch (special request) program, a Porsche factory-based service that fulfils customers’ personalised design and equipment wishes to individualise their cars.

This one-off Porsche 911 is a visual feast and a glowing celebration of motorsport heritage and handcrafted personalisation. Framing the Paint to Sample Greenyellow paint finish are tinted HD-Matrix LED headlights and the available exterior package in high-gloss Black. The Motor Sports Decorative Sticker Set and ‘PORSCHE’ side logo are finished in Speed Yellow that also appears as a pinstripe on the outer edge of the wheels, behind which sits the optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system.

Inside, the racing-inspired theme continues. The 3D-printed bodyform full bucket racing seat for the driver is fitted paired with the Interior Package in Carbon matt with accent in Black. The outlets for the seat belts in Racing Yellow are trimmed in Black Race-Tex, as are the sun visors.

Various individual Custom Tailoring Options from the Porsche Sonderwunsch department elevate the cabin further, including stitched ‘Bathurst’ monogramming in the seat headrests and green-coloured air-conditioning vents. A yellow-faced tachometer and Sport Chrono stopwatch instrument dial complete the cabin’s distinctive ‘Grello’ aesthetic.

“The Manthey-Racing Team has enormous experience racing Porsches globally, and their attention to detail can make the difference when it comes to winning,” says Campbell, referring to the extensive combination of Sonderwunsch touches that makes this one-off 911 Carrera GTS so special.
