The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS is in the starting blocks
The Porsche 911 GT3 is getting a big brother: the 911 GT3 RS, the new top of the 911 line in terms of performance will celebrate its world premiere on 17 August. The development of the high-performance sports car was inspired by the successful 911 RSR and 911 GT3 R GT racing cars.
“The new 911 GT3 RS is even more optimised for track use than its predecessors. The spontaneously responsive, high-revving four-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine with approximately 500 PS has proven ideal for use at trackdays and club sport events,” said Andreas Preuninger, Director GT Model Line.
“That's why we focused primarily on aerodynamics and chassis questions in the development of the new 911 GT3 RS.”

The digital world premiere of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS will be broadcast on newstv.porsche.com on 17 August at 5:00 pm CEST / 18 August at 1:00 am AEST. The video will also be available on demand there after the event.
Australia’s Mark Webber has joined fellow Porsche endurance racing legend Stéphane Ortelli for a uniquely Australian 60th anniversary celebration of the Porsche 911.
The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS has completed the 20.8-kilometre Nordschleife of the Nürburgring in 6:49.328 minutes – 10.6 seconds faster than the current 911 GT3. Behind the wheel was Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister, who was intensely involved in the development of the new flagship of the 911 series. An official was present to witness the lap time.
The 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS made its first in-person appearance today at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, only two days after its digital world premiere. The show car – customized by the GT Model Line and Style Porsche – is a tribute to the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7.
