Product Highlights: Porsche Panamera – a sportscar with the comfort of an exclusive sedan

The new Porsche Panamera now covers an even wider spectrum. It combines the performance of a sports car with the comfort of an exclusive saloon – and boasts best-in-class performance.

Porsche has revitalised the Panamera range by introducing a variety of enhancements to powertrains, chassis dynamics, styling, and technologies. Standard equipment inclusions have also been expanded and a new E-Hybrid model has been added to the range.

Panamera Turbo S: Best-in-class performance

The new Panamera Turbo S features more power (463 kW / 630 PS* (horsepower)) and torque (820 Nm). The familiar 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 engine has been comprehensively overhauled to deliver 59 kW / 80 PS* (horsepower) and 50 Nm more than the previous Panamera Turbo, earning the Panamera Turbo S best-in-class performance.

These new high-performance outputs accelerate the Panamera Turbo S from 0-100 km/h in only 3.1 seconds on the way to a top speed of 315 km/h (in Sport Plus mode).

Optimised performance for the Panamera Turbo S

Porsche has now customised the following technologies for the Panamera Turbo S model:

  • The three-chamber air suspension
  • Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM)
  • Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC Sport) roll stabilisation system
  • Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus)

Tailoring these settings ensures the Panamera Turbo S transfers its significant power output to the road in a controlled manner. They also help to maximise cornering performance.

Sports performance across the range

Panamera, Panamera 4, Panamera 4 Executive, and Panamera 4 Sport Turismo

These Panamera models are now all equipped with the familiar 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo engine. This engine continues to produce 243 kW / 330 PS* (horsepower) of power and 450 Nm of torque.

Panamera GTS and Panamera Sport Turismo GTS

The new Panamera GTS now produces 353 kW / 480 PS* (horsepower) and 620 Nm of torque, 15 kW / 20 PS* (horsepower) more than its predecessor.

Its V8 bi-turbo engine has been refined with a focus on its power delivery, with output rising continuously up to the engine’s RPM limit, more closely resembling the power delivery characteristics of a classic sports car with a naturally aspirated engine.

A new standard-fitment sports exhaust system with asymmetrically positioned rear silencers make the V8 engine’s sound attributes even more prominent.

Enhanced chassis dynamics

The chassis control systems in all new Panamera models have been geared towards a sporty and comfortable character. This has been achieved by updating some existing systems and revising others from scratch.

The revised Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system gives noticeable improvements in damping and comfort, while the control of the electric roll stabilisation system, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC Sport), delivers improved body stability.

The new Panamera range also features updated steering control and tyres.

Panamera 4S E-Hybrid with a 17.9 kWh battery

Joining the Panamera range is the new Panamera 4S E-hybrid, the latest performance-oriented plug-in hybrid model from Porsche.

This new model uses a 100 kW / 136 PS* (horsepower) electric motor that’s integrated within the eight-speed dual-clutch PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) gearbox. It’s combined with the 324 kW / 440 PS* (horsepower) 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo engine. The total system output is 412 kW / 560 PS* (horsepower) and a maximum torque of 750 Nm.

Driving performance is impressive: combined with the standard-fitment Sport Chrono package, 0-100 km/h takes 3.7 seconds. The top speed is 298 km/h.

The gross battery capacity has increased from 14.1 to 17.9 kWh (compared with the previous hybrid models) using optimised cells. The driving modes have been optimised for even more efficient energy use.

The E-Hybrid models in the Panamera range are:

  • Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid
  • Panamera 4S E-Hybrid
  • Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Sport Turismo
  • Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive
  • Panamera 4 E-Hybrid

Styling enhancements for greater presence

Body styles

The Panamera range comprises three body styles.

In addition to the sports sedan, the Panamera 4 and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid models can also be ordered as:

  • Panamera Executive (which has an additional 150 millimetres in its longer wheelbase, mainly to benefit rear-seat passengers)

And the Panamera 4, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera GTS can also be orders as:

  • Panamera Sport Turismo (which has an elevated rear body style)

Exterior styling upgrades

  • The previously optional Sport Design front end with striking air intake grilles, large side cooling openings and a single-bar front light module is now fitted as standard across the range.
  • The completely new front end of the Panamera Turbo S is differentiated by the larger side air intakes and newly designed elements in the exterior colour, which are connected horizontally and thus emphasise the width of the vehicle. The light modules of the dual Turbo front lights are now set further apart.
  • The revamped light strip at the rear now runs seamlessly over the luggage compartment lid with an adapted contour, providing a continuous and flowing connection between the two newly designed LED tail light clusters.
  • GTS models sport the new darkened Exclusive Design tail light clusters as standard, with dynamic coming/leaving home function.
  • Three new 20- and 21-inch wheel designs have been added to the wheel range, making available a total of 10 different designs.

Digital connectivity and assistance systems for safety and comfort

The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system includes additional digital functions and services, such as the Navigation and Infotainment, Porsche Connect app support, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay®.

The Panamera also offers an extensive range of innovative light and assistance systems as standard, such as Lane Keeping Assist, as well as Australian-specific standard equipment, which includes adaptive cruise control, Lane Change Assist, LED matrix headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus), Park Assist including Surround View, and head-up display.
