Product Highlights: 718 GTS 4.0 – driving pleasure for all the senses

The 718 GTS 4.0 models, Cayman and Boxster, are the latest addition to the Porsche mid-engine sports car range.

The four-litre naturally aspirated six-cylinder boxer engine, combined with the manual six-speed transmission, creates a unique combination of pure performance and everyday usability.

Performance without limits

The 718 GTS 4.0 models deliver the height of emotional driving pleasure, offering linear performance, smooth running, direct throttle response with outstanding revving ability and an authentic six-cylinder soundscape.

The new models are powered by a 294 kW / 400 PS* (horsepower) four-litre naturally aspirated six-cylinder flat engine, based on the engine used in the 718 Spyder and the 718 Cayman GT4. The engine delivers 35 PS* (horsepower) more than the previous 718 GTS powertrain and effortlessly revs to 7,800 rpm.

The four-litre engine benefits from numerous technologies, such as VarioCam including adaptive cylinder control that alternately switches off one of the two cylinder banks at low loads, direct fuel injection (DFI), a variable resonance intake manifold and even an intelligent thermal management system, contributing to the car’s efficiency and performance.

Unparalleled sound

The sports exhaust system with flap control has been completely redesigned. With its saddle-type design, the main silencers have been combined into a central component, located around the rear diffuser. The 718 GTS 4.0 sports exhaust system with separated tailpipes, adopted from the 718 Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4, reduces the exhaust back pressure to increase performance.

Further to this, the sound of the free-breathing flat engine is emphasised by the flap control offering an unparalleled sound experience.

Thrilling driving dynamics

For a more direct and exciting driving experience, the ride height has been lowered 20 millimetres thanks to the standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). Other standard equipment includes Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical limited slip rear differential, Porsche Stability Management (PSM) with selectable PSM Sport mode, Porsche Active Drivetrain Mounts (PADM) and Sport Chrono including compatability with the Porsche Track Precision app.

Sporty appearance

Black contrasting design elements emphasize the sporty appearance of the 718 GTS 4.0 models. This includes dark-tinted LED taillights, black 'GTS 4.0' lettering on the doors, the all-black air intake of the Sport Design front apron and the black 718 GTS 4.0 specific rear apron. The 20-inch 718 Sport wheels in Satin-Gloss Black and separated rear tailpipes differentiate the models from their predecessors.

Defining interior

The dark Alcantara® interior creates exclusive comfort and performance feel. This is used for the standard Sports Seats Plus seat centre panels, GT sports steering wheel rim, gearshift level, door handle, door panel armrest and centre console storage compartment lid partially in Alcantara®. Black Alcantara® in the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 covers the rooflining and A-pillar. 

The optional GTS interior package, offering owners a choice between Carmine Red or Crayon, adds to the sporty appeal. This accentuates stitching, seat belt straps in the contrasting colour, the rev counter dial, black-edged floor mats with stitching and 'Porsche' lettering and the 'GTS' lettering on the headrests.

Other highlights include a high-resolution seven-inch touchscreen and Sport Chrono package, including the Porsche Track Precision App, Porsche Connect and Apple® CarPlay with Siri® voice recognition.
