Prince Carl Philip of Sweden to make guest appearance in "Kanonloppet"
Prince Carl Philip of Sweden will make a guest appearance in Swedish motorsport classic Kanonloppet at Gelleråsen Arena, competing for Porsche on the 17th-18th of August.
"We are delighted and proud that Prince Carl Philip will be driving our VIP car during Kanonloppet", says Raine Wermelin, Director Porsche Sweden. "The Prince is a proven winner with great passion for racing who knows our series very well. An amazing ambassador for Swedish motorsports."
Kanonloppet is a well-known Swedish motorsport classic staged on Gelleråsen Arena outside of Karlskoga in Värmland. The event is a recurring favorite amongst Swedish motorsport fans since its inaugural race in 1950.
Since 2004 Kanonloppet is part of Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia and in 2019 the 9th and 10th rounds of the championship will be settled at Gelleråsen. Prince Carl Philip last competed in Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia during the 2011 season.
Following its international launch in December 2020, the first 992 generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car has arrived in Australia. The stunning wide-body race car is direct from Porsche Motorsport in Weissach, Germany and will be on display to the public at the OTR Supersprint - when The Bend Motorsport Park hosts Round 2 of Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia on the 07 to 09 May.
Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia teams travel to The Bend Motorsport Park in Tailem Bend for Round 2 of the 2021 series. The 4.95 km South Australian circuit is the second longest (behind Mount Panorama at 6.213km) of the current (confirmed) 2021 calendar and a favourite among Porsche 911 GT3 Cup drivers for its mix of fast and flowing corners.
