Porsche Junior Team

A chance for up-and-coming players – fostering youngsters is also very important for Porsche in tennis. In addition to the Porsche Talent Team, which aims to support young players stepping up to the pro tour, the Porsche Junior Team forms the second pillar. Porsche and the “Deutsche Tennis Bund” (DTB – the German Tennis Association) therefore provide better training facilities and a more intensive coaching for the talented U-18 juniors.

Some Porsche Junior Team members still go to school. The aim is for them to receive the best possible individual support so that they have a professional environment at home. With this broad basis, the DTB wants to guide even more players via the world junior rankings to the junior Grand Slams where they can gain valuable experience for the next stages of their careers.

The DTB has named three players for the Porsche Junior Team: Tamina Kochta (year of birth: 2009), Sophie Triquart (2010) and Ida Wobker (2009). For them this season is basically about gaining further important career experience on the ITF Tour.

The members Porsche Junior Team are the best age groupers in Germany and should develop into the next generation of players to represent tennis Germany at the top of the game. “The involvement of Porsche,” according to the DTB president Veronika Rücker, “means that we can give the players an even better set-up, one that goes beyond the coaching system in the national squad.”
