Awarding a Porsche as the winner’s prize is a long-standing tradition: at the inaugural Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 1978, Tracy Austin received the keys to a sports car from Zuffenhausen after her victory in the final. However, she had to hand them over to her mother with a heavy heart, as the teenage American was only 15 at the time and did not yet have a driving licence.
Alongside the enthusiasm of the spectators and the fantastic atmosphere in the Porsche Arena, it is above all the winner’s car that draws the world’s best players to Stuttgart. For two-time champion Angelique Kerber, it is “the most beautiful trophy on the WTA Tour”. And Aryna Sabalenka, who has already reached the final four times, has never made a secret of why she regularly competes at the prestigious WTA 500 tournament: “I want to win the car.”
High standards of quality and exclusivity
The Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet, presented in Cartagena Yellow Metallic with a classic black soft top and displayed throughout the tournament at the front of Centre Court, is a real eye-catcher. At the rear of the sports car icon from Zuffenhausen is the iconic 3.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine – in the case of the Carrera S with two turbochargers and an impressive 353 kW (480 PS). With the Sport Chrono Package, the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 308 km/h.
The 911 Carrera S Cabriolet’s high standards of quality and exclusivity are also reflected in the interior. As standard, Porsche equips the sports car with a black leather package. Seats, headrests, dashboard, door panels and the optional rear seating area are trimmed in high-quality smooth-finish leather.
Impressive performance
A wide range of options is available for the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet to further enhance performance. These include the track-proven Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) as well as the PASM sports suspension which features a 10-millimetre-lower ride height combined with rear-wheel steering.
In combination with rear-wheel steering, the steering has been geared more directly and the kinematics of the front axle have been adjusted. The result: even more agile, more direct handling, while noticeably increasing stability at high speeds.
In summer temperatures, the winner of the 2026 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix can look forward to the benefits of the Cabriolet: in around 12 seconds, the innovative roof system made of lightweight magnesium can be opened and closed automatically, offering excellent wind and noise insulation as well as strong aerodynamics even at higher speeds.
