Porsche inspecting ski bags in the Macan and Cayenne models
Porsche is recalling the “ski bag” vehicle accessory. The sports car manufacturer is recalling to workshops a total of 1,738 Macan and Cayenne vehicles worldwide which were originally fitted with the accessory, of which 568 units are in Germany.
The affected ski bags include securing strap seams that have been found not to meet the required standards for robustness. This means there is a possibility that the belt strap will tear when exposed to high levels of stress, and that the accessories will not be held in place. Ski bags will be reviewed in the workshop, and replaced if necessary.
This recall is a purely precautionary measure. In respect of this precautionary check, Porsche also requests that customers who subsequently bought the accessory part as a standalone item also visit their respective workshop. The recall affects ski bags from the production period running from January 2017 to February 2018. The free-of-charge visit to the workshop will take place at individual customers’ earliest convenience, and the checking process will take around half an hour.
