Weissach is the think tank of Porsche. From the first sketch to the finished prototype, vehicles have been developed, tested and prepared for series production here since 1971, with direct channels between the individual specialist departments. The Weissach Development Centre covers all aspects from design and concept development, modelmaking and initial prototypes, testing of aerodynamics, acoustics and electronics, development of drive systems, steering and chassis systems as well as safety analyses and testing. It has its own test track and is home of the Porsche motorsport department. Porsche combines traditional craftsmanship here with the latest, cutting-edge technologies. 6,500 employees currently work at this location, with 80 percent of them involved in development.
