Top golfers at Porsche Singapore Classic

Golf fans can also look forward to a high-class field of players at the second edition of the Porsche Singapore Classic set to be played on the Laguna National Golf Resort Club’s Classic Course. It will be headed by the multiple time tour winner Paul Casey. In addition to numerous top Asian golfers and the Scottish shooting star Robert MacIntyre, Jimmy Walker has already announced that he will be competing at the DP World Tour tournament.

The star line-up at the Porsche Singapore Classic is growing and the second edition of the prestigious DP World Tour tournament is already guaranteed an attractive top international field made up of international world class golfers and Asian title contenders. It means Robert MacIntyre (Scotland), the two-time US PGA Tour winner in 2024, will be joined by the Porsche Brand Ambassador Paul Casey from England and the Major champion Jimmy Walker from USA in the competition for the title and the special prize, a Porsche Taycan Turbo S, at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club from 20 to 23 March 2025. Further top players are also expected to be announced before the entry deadline.

After an impressive performance last year, the former world No. 3 Paul Casey is hoping to win his 16th DP World Tour title at his second attempt. “I am excited to return to Singapore for the Porsche Singapore Classic,” says Casey. “As a Porsche afficionado, I am honoured to be part of the Porsche family and celebrate our golf initiatives around the world and Singapore is always a special place to visit. You don´t often get the chance to be part of a premium event like this which I am looking forward to. I simply love it here!” The three-time Ryder Cup winner has already triumphed at a Porsche event – in 2019 at the Porsche European Open near Hamburg, Germany. Last year, Casey had been in contention for the title for a long time when Jesper Svensson won on the Classic Course.

Jimmy Walker, the 2016 PGA Championship victor, has also enjoyed good times at a Porsche event. The man from Oklahoma savoured his appearance at the Porsche European Open back in 2017 and still looks back at it with pleasure. “It’s always exciting to play in new events, and the Porsche Singapore Classic is no exception,” explains Walker who has notched up a total of 11 tournament wins in his playing career. “Porsche has been a fantastic supporter of golf, and I’ve experienced that firsthand at the Porsche European Open in Germany. Their commitment to the sport elevates the tournament experience for players and fans alike. I’ve really enjoyed playing on the DP World Tour this season, and I’m looking forward to another great week in Singapore.“

Robert MacIntyre enjoyed the Singapore Classic back in 2023 – and is eager to return to Laguna National. “I’m really excited to be playing in the Porsche Singapore Classic this year. The fans were amazing last time, and Laguna National is a great course to start the season’s Asian Swing,” says the winner of the DP World Tour’s prestigious Genesis Scottish Open and the US PGA Tour’s RBC Canadian Open. “I want to keep improving, keep moving up the world rankings, and compete at the biggest events. The Porsche Singapore Classic is a key stop on the global golf calendar, and I’m excited to get back out there and be part of it again,” says MacIntyre, who has recently established himself amongst the world’s Top 20.

Big Asian title hopefuls

The list of title hopefuls, some with a slight home advantage in Asia’s metropolis, includes Haotong Li (China), who only a few weeks ago celebrated his fourth DP World Tour win in Qatar, Asian Tour winner Gavin Green (Malaysia) as well as the four-time DP World Tour champion Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Thailand), who last year was pipped to the post by the eventual victor Svensson in the play-off. Other renowned Asian contestants are Wenyi Ding (China) and Keita Nakajima (Japan). The tournament week will be a special experience for Singapore’s Brayden Lee after the 17-year-old amateur secured his starting berth on home soil in a qualifying tournament. Others to book a starting place were Natipong Srithong (Thailand) and Shinichi Mizuno (Japan).

Attractive courtesy car fleet with Taycan and Cayenne models

The first Porsche vehicles are already to be found at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club. Executive Championship Director Patrick Bowers took delivery of the first of the 20-strong courtesy car fleet for the tournament personally from Andre Brand, General Manager Porsche Singapore in the Porsche Studio in the heart of Singapore. “We are excited to support the 2025 Porsche Singapore Classic again with these 20 Taycan and Cayenne sports cars as the official courtesy cars,“ says Andre Brand. “We are proud to start our players’ journeys with a luxurious welcome to Singapore.“ The courtesy cars are available for use by the athletes during the tournament week. After the event, interested persons will be given the opportunity to take advantage of a special offer and purchase one of the tournament Porsches.

The premiere of the Porsche Singapore Classic last year immediately more than fulfilled all the big expectations. In doing so, the event has been established in the important Asian market as a new highlight in the international professional golf involvement of Porsche.

Porsche in Golf

Porsche has been involved in golf since 1988 through the Porsche Golf Cup. One of the company’s most successful customer events, the tournament series has developed into an international event in which over 16,000 Porsche customers recently took part in 229 worldwide qualifying tournaments. The sports car manufacturer started its involvement in professional golf in Germany in 2015 when becoming the title sponsor of the DP World Tour’s prestigious Porsche European Open. In order to expand its global activities, Porsche has been acting as the title sponsor of the Porsche Singapore Classic in the important Asian market since 2024. Car partnerships at US PGA Tour and DP World Tour tournaments, such as the Omega European Masters in Crans Montana as well as in women’s golf at The Amundi Evian Championship, round off its worldwide commitment in professional golf. Launched in 2017, the Porsche Golf Circle is also highly successful. The international community for keen golf-playing Porsche customers gives members the opportunity to enjoy exclusive golfing experiences at unique locations and at professional tournaments. Paul Casey has been complementing the Porsche family as the first Brand Ambassador from the game of golf since 2020.
