Elkhart Lake, Wis. The No. 5 JDC-Miller MotorSports Porsche 963 was fifth when the race restarted with 10 minutes to go, but contact between the second-place and third-place cars – including the No. 6 Porsche Penske Motorsport 963 – brought out a final caution and elevated the trio of Laurin Heinrch, Kaylen Frederick and Tijmen van der Helm to third. A second penalty issued to the second-running Aston Martin prototype gave the Porsche one more position at the checkered flag.
The second-place finish leaves Heinrich just 128 points behind the leader in the Driver Championship with two races remaining.
The caution period that helped JDC-Miller MotorSports prevented the No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R of AO Racing from one last attempt at the win. The duo of Nick Tandy and Harry King were quick all day, but ultimately finished one position shy of the win.
The No. 7 Porsche Penske Motorport 963 led at the three-hour mark to extend its point lead in the Michelin Endurance Cup. The No. 7 ultimately finished sixth.
