Porsche Track Experience expands range of programs in 2027

Two new courses added to roster: ‘GT Masters’ offers GT3-only experience while new half-day 'GT Drift' course focuses on car control skills.

ATLANTA. For the first time in the history of the Porsche Track Experience (PTX), an entire driver training program will be dedicated to a single model: the Porsche 911 GT3. Porsche Cars North America today announced its 2027 PTX line-up, featuring an expanded range of driver training programs at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Alabama and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California. For 2027, Barber will introduce two new courses, both centered exclusively around the 911 GT3.

The core PTX curriculum will continue at both locations, including Laguna Seca, which became the program's second North American home this year.

“Nothing compares to the experience of driving a Porsche with the beating heart of a race car,” said Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “The 911 GT3 doesn’t just promise, but delivers a motorsport-derived driving experience, one that’s rooted in real world competition. The best way to truly appreciate what makes a GT3 special is from behind the wheel, and there is no better place to do that than on a racetrack with professional instruction.”

The first new offering is GT Drift, a half-day program focused on one thing: mastering car control when the rear and front tires are no longer traveling in the same direction. After a brief classroom covering the fundamentals of vehicle dynamics, participants head straight to the skid pad before progressing to trail braking exercises, rotation practice and dedicated drifting skills. Using only the 911 GT3, the course gives drivers a unique opportunity to explore the limits of one of Porsche’s most exciting production cars in a safe, controlled environment. GT Drift is priced at $1,500 per participant.

Building on the single-model training concept, PTX will also introduce Masters GT, a new three-day advanced driving program focused exclusively on the 911 GT3. Offered by invitation-only to graduates of the Masters RS course, Masters GT is designed to deliver the most concentrated and refined driver development experience in the PTX portfolio. Participants will spend three days in the 911 GT3, with a strong emphasis on increased track time, detailed performance analysis and personalized coaching. The program begins at the Barber Proving Grounds, where drivers dedicate the first day to sharpening advanced vehicle control skills. Days two and three shift to the racetrack, alternating between open lapping sessions and comprehensive data review. At $23,000 per participant, Masters GT represents the highest level of instruction available through Porsche Track Experience and is designed to help the driver extract every ounce of performance from themselves and the car.

Both new courses will be available exclusively through PTX at the Barber Motorsports Park location in Birmingham, Alabama. Beginning in 2027, they join a comprehensive schedule operating on both coasts. Barber Motorsports Park has been home to Porsche’s driving school since 2003 when it launched as the Porsche Sport Driving School. Laguna Seca, which opened a PTX location this year, will enter its second full season of helping participants develop car-control skills on one of motorsport’s most iconic tracks.

The full range of existing PTX programs will continue into 2027. Available options include introductory, intermediate and advanced level courses ranging from a single day of instruction (Precision, $2,500 at Barber, $3,600 at Laguna Seca) to a two-day Performance experience ($5,000 / $6,700), and three-day courses that progress from Masters ($6,600 / $9,200) to the advanced Masters RS ($10,600 / $14,300).

Depending on the course selected, participants can develop their skills in a variety of Porsche sports cars including the 718 Cayman and Boxster GTS 4.0, 911 Carrera GTS and 911 GT3.
