CARSON, Calif. The 2027 Porsche Sprint Challenge North America calendar is an expanded 16-race schedule at eight events, joined by Porsche Endurance Challenge at four venues throughout the season.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge championship opens at Sebring International Raceway in February before a springtime west coast swing featuring back-to-back events at Sonoma Raceway and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. A return to Barber Motorsports Park and an early June visit to Virginia International Raceway are followed by the Sprint Challenge return to Watkins Glen International over the Independence Day weekend. The championship visits Road America before its conclusion at Road Atlanta in September.
For the first time, the championship will be decided using each competitor's best 14 results from the 16-race season. This allows every full-season entrant to drop their two lowest-scoring race results.
Porsche Endurance Challenge North America will join Porsche Sprint Challenge at Sebring, Watkins Glen, Road America and Road Atlanta. All are 100-minute races with the exception of the four-hour race at Road America.
The 2027 events at Laguna Seca and Barber Motorsports Park will deliver an all-Porsche experience, featuring Sprint Challenge alongside other Porsche community activities.
“The 2027 schedule was created with competitors and teams in mind,” Volker Holzmeyer, President and CEO of Porsche Motorsport North America, said. “Many of these events line up with other events in the Porsche Motorsport pyramid, a benefit to teams who compete in multiple championships. The new point structure allows Sprint Challenge drivers the flexibility to balance their racing endeavors and still run for a championship.”
Porsche Sprint Challenge will continue to offer classes for the Porsche 911 variants, including the new-for-2026 Porsche 911 Cup (type 992.2) and the previous-generation Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (type 992.1). The Clubsport class will feature the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.
For the third consecutive season, per event entry fees remain unchanged in Porsche Sprint Challenge. Full-season drivers will receive preferred entry pricing, one complimentary drum of fuel per event, annual hospitality and crew credentials, and an exclusive driver gift.
The championship continues under USAC sanction and officiating in 2027. Each event offers an optional test day on the opening day of the event.
