From tropical heat to Siberian cold

Three bloggers, one extreme endurance test: Testing the Porsche 911 GT3 in the climatic chamber.

Shivers, sweat and a Porsche 911 GT3: Ilya Strekalovsky from Russia, Tim Burton (also known as Shmee150) from the UK and Jens Stratmann from Germany took on an extreme vlogging challenge. They had the opportunity to try out the GT3 at temperatures ranging from minus 40 to minus 20 degrees Celsius in the climatic chamber at the Porsche Development Centre. With this challenge, Porsche Motorsport partner ExxonMobil wanted to demonstrate the demanding conditions faced by Mobil 1 engine oil.

The testers have blogged for years about various aspects of the automotive world, but they have never experienced a test like this before. Under the supervision of sports expert Professor Greg Whyte, they learnt that an engine reacts to cooling and heating in a similar way to the human body. You can find out how the battle of "Man versus machine" played out – in temperatures ranging from tropical to arctic – in this video:
