The trip to Zuffenhausen was a heartfelt wish for Eva Lys. “I’ve been wanting to go to the Porsche Museum for such a long time, and I’ve finally managed it,” said the delighted 24-year-old German who has a quite special relationship with Porsche. She has been associated with the brand as a Porsche Friend since 2025 and feels very happy in the role. “I was a big fan of Porsche beforehand and for me it’s a privilege being able to represent a company with such a fascinating tradition and history.”
Eva Lys was also fascinated by the vehicles on display in the Porsche Museum. She was highly impressed by, above all, “the really fast cars” and it was therefore no surprise that she, alongside all the classics, was attracted by a race car – the Porsche 917/20. Known as the “Pink Pig”, it achieved cult status in 1971 with its pink livery featuring cuts of meat. “I’d take it myself if I had to decide,” she smiled, “even though I really liked all the cars here.”
The thing that most impressed Eva Lys on her tour was, alongside all the four-wheeled treasures on display, was the company history. “I found out so much about the company, especially about Ferdinand Porsche who always believed in his vision of the perfect sports car,” said the most promising German tennis player. “I see many parallels to us players. We’re also not perfect from the beginning, we mustn’t allow it to get us down and we have to work hard to keep improving.”
Since returning to the Porsche Arena, the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is the number one priority for Eva Lys. She will commence her campaign at the long-standing Stuttgart tournament featuring numerous top players on Tuesday at 6.30 pm. Her strong opening opponent is Paula Badosa, the former world No. 2 from Spain.
