Porsche Macan Turbo Concept Lago accompanies world premiere of new sports boat

The German-Austrian collaboration between Porsche and Frauscher Boats continues on course. At boot Düsseldorf 2026, the two brands will present the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre – a newly developed sports boat engineered entirely around the fully electric powertrain of the Porsche Macan. The world premiere will be supported by the unveiling of the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, an extensively customised concept car. The boat and the SUV mirror one another in numerous design details. In addition, the new Porsche Cayenne Electric will celebrate its German premiere in Düsseldorf.

Whether Taycan, Macan or Cayenne Electric, Porsche has designed all its BEV models from the ground up as purely electric sports cars. Engineers have taken full advantage of the resulting technical freedom to get the most out of vehicle design in terms of technology. The Austrian boatbuilder Frauscher has now adopted the same approach.

Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre

The new Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre has been specifically developed for the high-performance Porsche electric drive system and constructed entirely around the high-voltage battery, rear-axle motor and control electronics of the fully electric Macan Turbo. The result is a lightweight, agile and efficient sports boat that sets new benchmarks in the maritime world – much like the multiple award-winning Frauscher x Porsche Fantom and its open-top ‘Air’ variant. Frauscher has engineered an all-new hull for the 790 Spectre which is lighter, shorter and narrower than previous models. The drive module, including the 100 kWh battery and 400 kW PSM motor, remains largely unchanged.

Measuring 7.97 metres in length, the new boat is not only powered by Porsche – it also carries the sports car brand’s same design DNA throughout many details. For the world premiere at boot Düsseldorf, Porsche is highlighting the close connection between car and boat with an exclusive concept vehicle based on the Macan Turbo and extensively customised by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Through numerous exterior and interior features, the boat and SUV share a unified design style, merging the domains of road and water.

As with Porsche sports cars, individualisation also plays a central role in boats from Frauscher. This becomes immediately apparent from the exclusive Darkteal Metallic paintwork of both boat and SUV. The colour originates from the Paint to Sample programme, which expands Porsche’s range of highly individual exterior colours. The programme is also available for the new 790 Spectre; customers can have their chosen shade applied at the boatyard as an 11-layer finish. Another distinctive design element with a wide range of customisation options are the sideblades. On the Macan Turbo Concept Lago, featuring the ‘Frauscher x Porsche’ lettering, they are painted in body colour; on the show boat, they are finished in high-gloss black with ‘electric’ lettering.

Interior with real wood, marine-grade fabric and a compass

The interior continues the theme of mutual design references. As in Porsche sports cars, the start button of the Frauscher 790 Spectre is positioned to the left of the steering wheel. The steering wheel itself, upholstered in original Porsche leatherette, and the sports seats for the driver and front passenger, all bear the Porsche Crest. The five round instruments with traditional Porsche graphics also echo the sporting DNA from Zuffenhausen. The design of the rear bench, featuring vertical stitching, is likewise inspired by Porsche seat design, underscoring the shared design philosophy.

Conversely, the 790 Spectre has also made its mark on the Macan Turbo Concept Lago – including with bespoke features from Porsche’s Sonderwunsch programme. Both the front and the rear luggage compartments are lined with yacht-style real wood. The high-quality natural material is also found in the decorative elements of the door trims and the floor mats, evoking the feel of a ship’s deck. Instead of the Sport Chrono stopwatch, a compass occupies the highest point of the cockpit. The seat centres are upholstered in marine-grade fabric and harmonise with the Crayon-coloured leather of the seat bolsters. Even the air vents are trimmed in Crayon leather. In addition to the leather interior package, Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has enhanced the concept vehicle with contrasting stitching in Night Green. The link between the two worlds is rounded off with identically customised keys for both the boat and SUV, each finished in Darkteal Metallic.

“The Macan Turbo Concept Lago and the 790 Spectre elevate the collaboration between Frauscher and Porsche to a new level,” says Jörg Kerner, Vice President Product Line Macan. “Together with our Austrian colleagues, we are showcasing how E-Performance, design and personalisation can merge across brands to form a unified experience.”

While the Porsche Macan Turbo Concept Lago remains a design study for the time being, the Frauscher x Porsche 790 Spectre is now available to order. Customers are now also able to order – and personalise – the Cayenne Electric. Porsche’s second fully electric SUV, which delivers up to 850 kW (1,156 PS,Cayenne Turbo Electric: Electric power consumption* combined (WLTP) 22.4 – 20.4 kWh/100 km, CO₂ emissions* combined (WLTP) 0 g/km, CO₂ class A ) in Turbo specification, is making its German debut in Düsseldorf and is an ideal, and powerful, tow vehicle for boat trailers. Depending on equipment, the new Cayenne can tow up to 3.5 tonnes.
