On the Birth of a Legend

There it stands unveiled in the brightly lit underground garage of the Porsche Museum: the “rolling chassis” of the 918 Spyder. No body, only the bare technology is visible. A few pages further on. White floor, white walls, here and there a bright green stripe. Otherwise, no chichi at the Zuffenhausen factory, nothing to distract the eye from what's essential: the production of the super sports car. Browsing through another few pages. The “Picture Book” of the “Porsche 918 Spyder” trilogy features photographs of the Munich photographer and designer Stefan Bogner. The book is being published by Delius Klasing Verlag and came on the market on Thursday, January 15. In the second volume, the “Fact Book”, Porsche expert Klaus-Achim Peitzmeier summarises all important facts and figures on the vehicle. The third part is a “Storybook”, in which the journalist Jürgen Pander traces the development of the 918 Spyder. He looks behind the scenes and allows the protagonists of Porsche sports car design to speak.
