Porsche celebrates its ninth victory at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

Porsche has won the 78th edition of the Belgian 24-hour classic. The customer team Lionspeed GP, featuring Austrian Thomas Preining, Swiss driver Ricardo Feller and Bastian Buus from Denmark, secured victory after completing 541 laps, finishing 12,3 seconds ahead of the field.

The trio of current Porsche DTM drivers had to start the fourth round of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup from the pit lane – and thus from the back of the field – following an unscheduled engine change. With consistently fast lap times and an optimal pit stop strategy, the No. 80 Porsche 911 GT3 R steadily worked its way up the field throughout the endurance race. At around 8.30 am on Sunday morning, the team took the lead in the race. The 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps also forms part of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.

A detailed report with comprehensive information, comments from drivers and team representitives, as well as photos and videos will follow shortly.
