In the sprint to the first corner ten Voorde beat his fellow countryman Robert de Haan (Team75 Bernhard), who had started the race from pole position. “That was the decisive move. After that I was able to control the race,” reported ten Voorde, who drove towards his 31st victory in the Carrera Cup Deutschland unchallenged. His lead at the finish was almost three seconds - a small eternity in the one-make cup with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
De Haan, since Saturday the youngest winner in the history of the Carrera Cup Deutschland, didn’t have the race he was hoping for: the radiator on his nine-eleven was damaged in a duel and the 17-year-old was forced to retire after pitting on the opening lap.
Following Robert de Haan’s retirement, Huub van Eijndhoven and Harry King launched a pursuit of race leader Larry ten Voorde. “I chose an aggressive strategy with the tyre pressure. That made me very fast during the first laps. However, I was also one of the first to experience tyre degradation,” revealed van Eijndhoven. Harry King had opted for the opposite tactic. “Once Huub’s tyres started to loose grip, I was able to overtake him easily. But Larry was already too far ahead by then,” analysed the Briton.
“Following the bad luck in Saturday’s race, today was a strong comeback for me and the team,” summarised Larry ten Voorde, who moved to Proton Huber Competition for the 2024 season. “We’re evolving more and more as a team, which is great fun for me.”
Behind fourth-placed Theo Oeverhaus (Bonk Motorsport) from Germany, newcomer Kas Haverkort (Uniserver by GP Elite) crossed the finish line to secure his first victory in the Rookie classification. “Given I had never even sat in a GT racing car until February, things are going extremely well. A rookie win and a place in the top five of the overall standings – that’s awesome,” beamed the 20-year-old Dutchman, who raced single-seaters until 2023.
The best-placed ProAm driver was German Michael Essmann (CarTech Motorsport), who had skipped the race the day before to attend a family celebration. “Communion on Saturday, ProAm victory on Sunday. That’s what I call a successful weekend,” said the delighted entrepreneur.
“Three different winners in the first four races, new faces on the podium every event - that shows how close the competition is in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland this season. I’m thrilled that the newcomers on both the driver and team side have been at the front right from the start. And I’m particularly proud of the strong performances from the drivers from the Talent Pool, who even celebrated a one-two victory in Saturday’s race,” said Hurui Issak, Project Manager Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland, looking back on the Oschersleben weekend.
The teams will make their way to the Dutch North Sea coast for the next round. Races five and six of the season are scheduled for 8 and 9 June 2024 at the Circuit Zandvoort, a well-known Formula 1 venue.

Race 3
Robert de Haan (Team75 Bernhard) won race three of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. After 20 action-packed laps, the Dutchman crossed the finish line approximately three seconds ahead of his German teammate Janne Stiak. Third place went to Ariel Levi (Uniserver by GP Elite). Already, tomorrow, Sunday (28 April 2024), the field of Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars will tackle race four of the season at 11.20 am on the 3.667-kilometre circuit in the Magdeburger Börde.
At the age of 17 years, ten months and five days, Robert de Haan crowned himslef the youngest winner in the history of the one-make cup, which was established in 1990. Janne Stiak, who rounded off the one-two victory for Porsche brand ambassador Timo Bernhard’s team, is nine months younger. Finishing third, 23-year-old Ariel Levi is yet another talented youngster in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland. He is also the first Israeli racing driver to clinch a podium result.
“That was a very interesting race,” said polesitter Robert de Haan with a smile. “I made a mistake at the start which cost me the lead.” That was the moment when his teammate Janne Stiak swept to the front of the field for the first time in his career. “I had a great start but I didn’t get the rear tyres up to temperature properly, so Robert got past me again.”
Larry ten Voorde (Proton Huber Competition) and Marvin Klein (Target Competition) were initially locked in a battle for third place. In a direct duel, the defending champion from the Netherlands nudged the French newcomer’s car into a spin. A trailing driver was unable to avoid the melee and rear-ended Klein – throwing them both out of the race. Ten Voorde managed to continue driving but was immediately handed a penalty by the stewards. He had to take two penalty laps, which meant that twice he had to reduce his speed to 60 km/h for 50 metres. By the time he crossed the finish line, Larry ten Voorde had ploughed his way back up to eighth place.
“Oschersleben is known for being chaotic in the first few laps. I used a defensive tactic and stayed out of all trouble. That paid off. I’m incredibly proud of my third place,” reported Ariel Levi, who started the race from sixth place on the grid. He was followed over the line by Theo Oeverhaus from Osnabrück (Bonk Motorsport), Huub van Eijndhoven (Uniserver by GP Elite) from the Netherlands and championship leader Harry King (Allied-Racing) from England.
Victory in the Rookie classification also went to Robert de Haan. With Flynt Schuring (Proton Huber Competition) in second place and Senna van Soelen (Target Competition) in third, the podium was locked out by all-Dutch drivers. The fastest ProAm driver was Sören Spreng (GP Elite). “My start wasn’t great because I couldn’t really see the lights at the start. Then someone shunted me into a spin and I lost a few places. I had to work my way up the order again. The race was full of action for me too,” quipped the German.
