Glorious history, thrilling prospects – last week’s 2023 Porsche Golf Cup Germany Final served up emotional moments for the almost 200 competitors at the heart of the sports car marque in Stuttgart. At the season’s highlight of the national Porsche Golf Cup, a quartet secured themselves a berth at next year’s World Final in Mallorca. The top golfers at 52 qualifying tournaments contested by a total of almost 4,000 participants competed for the four Team Germany slots at the spectacular final of the exclusive tournament series in four separate 18-hole stableford rankings played at Stuttgart’s Golf Club Solitude (net A and gross) and at Golf Club Hetzenhof (net B and C). A total of 57 Porsche centers took part in this season’s national qualifiers.

The victory in the gross class went to Benedict Gebhardt (HCP -2,9) from the Porsche Center Frankfurt and shone not only with an impressive four under par 68 but also triumphed simultaneously in the special nearest to the pin (0.34 metres) and longest drive (315 metres) competitions. The winners in the net classes are Christoph Ennulat (net A, HCP 5.6), Sintija Juhna-Dauber (net B, HCP 16.3) and Stefan Schmitz (net C, HCP 26.7).

Team Germany flies to Mallorca

Awaiting the four is now the next highlight – the spectacular World Final in Mallorca. The winning quartet will play as Team Germany and will take on the successful golfers in the qualifiers in about 20 markets all over the world. “For me, it was obviously a very good day out on the course,” said a happy gross winner Gebhardt. “It was a breathtaking event with the start in the Porsche Museum, a fantastic golf course and a super evening event – many thanks to Porsche. It’s naturally a big honour at being given the opportunity to play for Team Germany at the World Final.”

The team contest for the Porsche centers was won by the Porsche Center Munich South customers’ team. The Porsche Golf Circle hole-in-one prize, a place at the “Porsche Golf Circle x Icons of Porsche” event in Dubai in November – including the flight – was not claimed. The exclusive special prize was therefore raffled amongst the guests at the concluding Champions Dinner.

The overjoyed winners and the other golfers in the lower placings were however not the only ones to leave with enduring memories of a special weekend – the whole Community enjoyed unforgettable days centring on their common passions. On the occasion of the marque’s 75 anniversary, almost 400 guests were invited to the heart of Porsche for a special journey through time. It included a visit to the Porsche Museum on the first evening and the visitors were able to immerse themselves in the successful history of Porsche. To end the day of tournament golf played on two of South Germany’s outstanding courses, the Community then enjoyed a musical journey through the past 75 years at the Champions’ Night with various show performances which included the award ceremony.

“This Porsche Golf Cup was special for a number of reasons,” says Alexander Pollich, the Managing Director of Porsche Deutschland GmbH. “Celebrating three anniversaries at the heart of Porsche together with the Community was an emotional experience that everybody present will never forget. 75 years of Porsche sports cars, and 60 years of the 911 – the Porsche Golf Cup with its 35 years and a very long tradition as one of the most important customer programmes is the perfect match. Like the brand and its sports cars, it is also highly popular right up to the present day, and our Porsche centers play a big part in everything.”

About the Porsche Golf Cup

The Porsche Golf Cup in Germany is one of the company’s most successful customer events and is jointly organised by Porsche centers and Porsche Deutschland GmbH. Held for the first time in Germany in 1988, the Porsche Golf Cup initially had 80 competitors and has since developed into an international event in which more than 14,000 Porsche customers recently took part in 261 worldwide qualifying tournaments. The 2023 Porsche Golf Cup season’s World Final will be played in the coming year in Mallorca. It will be the eighth time the competition has been staged.
