New calendar with eleven races and spectacular season-opening at Le Mans

The Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland has updated its racing calendar and the season kicks off with an absolute highlight: the first round of the national one-make cup will be held as a support race to the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.

For the race at the Sarthe, the German series will line up on the grid with the Porsche Carrera Cup France. For the four other events, the German Porsche Carrera Cup will compete as part of the ADAC GT Masters weekend. A digital double-header opening event of the Carrera Cup was held in June on the Esports platform “RaceRoom”, with Laurin Heinrich (D/Porsche Zentrum Bamberg) claiming victory at both virtual races.

“We’re delighted to present a revised racing calendar after our digital launch. In this way, we can give our teams and drivers some perspective for this challenging season during the coronavirus crisis. The Le Mans race with the special atmosphere of the endurance classic is an absolute highlight,” says Hurui Issak, Project Manager of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland.

Three races are planned at rounds two and three at the Sachsenring in Germany and the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, with two races held at the Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands and the season finale at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. All races run as support to the ADAC GT Masters are contested over 30 minutes. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, competitors in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland will contest a single race over 45 minutes. All events adhere to strict hygiene and social distancing practices.

As a supplement to the racing calendar, the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland Experience Day will again be offered on 9 November. This event is aimed at talented drivers who are interested in tackling the 2021 season of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland.
