Porsche’s all-electric Taycan sports saloon has been given a significant update. It now features a sharper look, the latest generation driver experience aids, more power, increased range, quicker charging and faster acceleration.
Featured here is the Taycan Turbo S model. Turbo variants now boast a more significant visual difference to the other models in the range, including the Turbonite crest on the bonnet.
What is it?
Launched in 2019, Taycan was the first fully-electric Porsche sports car.
It redefined EV performance cars with its modular battery cells that allowed it to sit lower and give the same sporty driving position as the 911 Coupe.
Taycan was also the first production car to use 800 volt technology, which enables faster recharging.
What's new?
This is the first model update for Taycan. It has received upgrades to its chassis, drivetrain, software, interior and exterior while shedding up to 15kg.
Exterior
This Taycan Turbo S wears a new violet colour called 'Provence' that is named after the region in Southern France and its spectacular lavender fields.
It also features 21-inch RS Spyder Design Wheels with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and a Turbonite SportDesign Package.
New for 2025 are revised front guards with flatter headlights to emphasise width. It also includes Porsche’s four-point daytime light signature and new tail lights including the Porsche logo in the rear strip as a three-dimensional, glass-look design.
Interior
The Turbo S features Smooth-Finish Leather in Bramble with Exclusive Manufaktur highlights including the Porsche Crest on headrests, and aluminium pedals.
Surround View with Active Parking Support and a Burnmester 3D high-end surround sound system are also included.
Apple CarPlay has been more deeply integrated. The instrument cluster, central display and optional passenger display have extra functions with a revised interface.
Because this Taycan Turbo S has the Sport Chrono package and the Performance Battery Plus, it also has the push-to-pass button on the steering wheel-mounted mode switch.
Drivetrain
A permanently excited synchronous electric motor sits on each of the front and rear axle, and is therefore all-wheel drive. It features a two-speed transmission for quicker acceleration and better long-range efficiency.
A new push-to-pass button provides 70 kW boost for 10 seconds, giving the Turbo S an extra 140 kW when used with Launch Control.

Driving experience
The low profile and centre of gravity of the Taycan gives it a similar feel to the 911 when you sit behind the wheel. The cornering characteristics and acceleration both make this car an amazing performance sports sedan.
The two-speed transmission adds to its sportscar feel as it shifts into high gear on the motorways for better range and slips back down a notch for tight corners and mountain passes for better acceleration.
Porsche’s Active Ride active-suspension also does a great job filtering out road imperfections, speed humps and limits body movement. It even lifts the car while parked to allow for easier entry and exit for driver and passengers.
