Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East is back for the 2024/25 season marking one of 12 global Carrera Cup Championships, it will act as the major support event to the Formula One Grands Prix in Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia as well as the leading support event for the FIA World Endurance Championship in Bahrain.
Kicking off in Bahrain on Oct 31-November 2, Round 1 will be the main warm-up act to the WEC 8-Hours of Bahrain before moving on to Qatar where it will again set the stage before the Qatar Formula One Grand Prix on Nov 29 to December 1.
"Operating from the Bahrain International Circuit, “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”, everyone benefits from an exceptional environment with state-of-the-art motorsport facilities in a great region,” Promoter, Robert Lechner said.
“The Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East is an ideal platform for all local and international racing drivers (Am, ProAm, Pro) or professional racing teams to compete and participate in this part of the world,” Lechner added.
Among some of the new names joining the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East for the first time is Porsche GB Junior Driver James Wallis. The talented Brit took part in the final round in Abu Dhabi last year at the Yas Marina Circuit but has signed up for a full 2024/25 season. He will be joined by the first female to race a Porsche in the Middle East with Bulgarian driver Alexandria Vateva committing to the full series, while successful Italian racing team Fulgenzi racing makes its debut with driver and team head Enrico Fulgenzi behind the wheel.
Established in 2009 as the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Middle East, the racing series was upgraded to being named the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East in time for the 2023/24 season.
As one of only 12 Porsche Carrera Cup series worldwide, it’s part of an exclusive club that provides a perfect platform for local and international racing drivers or professional racing teams to participate in the region.
In time for the new season, Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East also welcomes the addition of exclusive yacht charter and brokerage company, Splendid Yachting as a commercial partner.
