Taichi Watarai crowned 2025/26 Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East champion as season ends early

Young Japanese driver Taichi Watarai has been crowned the 2025/26 Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East champion, after the championship was forced to call an early end to the season.

Following recent developments in the region, the final two rounds of the 2025/26 Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East have been cancelled.

Round 5 at the Bahrain International Circuit and Round 6 at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, both of which were to support FIA Formula 1 World Championship events, have been officially cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

As a result, Taichi Watarai is crowned the 2025/26 Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East champion. The young Japanese driver is also awarded the Rookie crown.

Australian Caleb Sumich finishes the championship in second place, with Saudi driver Khaled Al Ahmadi third outright.

Al Ahmadi is also confirmed as the winner of the GCC class. Cedric Chassang wins the Pro-Am category and Krister Andero the Masters classification.
