Aryna Sabalenka: First superstar to sign up for 2026 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix

Aryna Sabalenka will also be in action at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 2026: the world No. 1 is the first player to confirm her entry. The long-standing Stuttgart tournament will take place in the Porsche Arena from 11 to 19 April 2026.

“The fact that a superstar like Aryna Sabalenka has signed up for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix at such an early stage is a big compliment for our tournament,” says Tournament Director Markus Günthardt. “I’m convinced other top players will soon follow and we’ll again be able to offer our audiences world class tennis in 2026.”

Aryna Sabalenka crowned her successful season at the US Open in September by successfully defending her title to add a fourth career Grand Slam win. She had previously claimed the WTA Masters events in Miami and Madrid in addition to the season’s opener in Brisbane. She started 2025 as the No. 1 and will also end the year by heading the rankings. She is thus the tenth player to achieve the feat of topping the tree for a whole calendar year and is only the sixth one to amass over 10,000 world ranking points in a single year. As for the Stuttgart tournament, she has unfinished business. In her four appearances in the final to date, she was outdone by Ashleigh Barty in 2021, Iga Swiatek in 2022 and 2023 and Jelena Ostapenko in 2025.

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix traditionally has one of the strongest fields of all the WTA 500 events on the worldwide professional tour. This year there were accordingly six Top 10 players in action – including the world’s top four. Five Top 10 players contested the quarterfinals.

Porsche in Tennis

The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is the flagship of Porsche’s worldwide involvement in women’s tennis. First played in Filderstadt in 1978, the long-standing Stuttgart tournament has been held in the city’s Porsche Arena since 2006. It stands for tradition and innovation, as does the Porsche brand. As the most loyal sponsor of women’s international tennis, Porsche has accompanied the WTA’s oldest indoor event right from the start. Porsche has also been supporting women’s tennis internationally for years. Eva Lys and Maria Sakkari are “Friends of the Brand” in their home countries. Porsche has been a premium partner of the “Deutsche Tennis Bund” (DTB – German Tennis Association) since 2012 and is committed to fostering up-and-coming players in the Porsche Talent Team and the Porsche Junior Team.
