911 Love: Interview with Chris Harris

Motoring journalist and racing driver Chris Harris doesn’t ask about a car’s speed first; instead, he asks about the feelings it evokes. He talks about his own emotions in the questionnaire.

“Too many people ask how fast a car is when they should be asking, ‘How does it make me feel?’ To me, this car sounds like a musical instrument.” Awe is written all over Chris Harris’s face as he tackles the country roads of Tenerife in the new 911 GT3 S/C. As the host of the world premiere, Harris had the opportunity to test-drive the GT3 Cabriolet.

The British automotive journalist, TV host, and race car driver has already tamed the most high-performance sports cars in the world. Best known for his spectacular drift maneuvers, he set a Guinness World Record for the longest drift in an electric car behind the wheel of a Taycan in 2020, with a total distance of 3.4 kilometers. His fans love his extraordinary expertise and British humor, whether as a former host of the BBC show Top Gear, chatting in The Car Podcast with Chris Harris & Friends, or performing on his YouTube channel Chris Harris on Cars. Together with the video on his channel, in typical Chris Harris style, the posts about the world premiere generated around 1.2 million views. His conclusion: “This model seamlessly upholds the tradition of driving dynamics.”
