Porsche Centre Doha hosts Combustion vs Electric driving experience

Guests were invited to drive the latest Porsche Taycan, both petrol and electric versions of the Macan, the 718 Coupe and Panamera back-to-back to compare the merits of both forms of propulsion.

Qatar | Porsche Centre Doha has created a unique experience to answer questions customers and media often ask regarding the comparable benefits of driving a fully electric car (EV) against an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) with a scenic drive that included some renowned Qatari hospitality in a stunning desert location.

The event, titled 'Combustion vs. Electric,' offered participants the unique opportunity to test drive Porsche’s latest fully electric and internal combustion engine models to explore their performance, innovation and sustainability in varying terrains across Qatar.

Guests were invited to the drive the new, all-electric Porsche Taycan alongside the all-new Macan Electric as well as their ICE-powered counterparts including the new Panamera, 718 Coupe and Macan ICE. This allowed them to compare first-hand the dynamic capabilities of Porsche’s groundbreaking electric models with the performance of traditional combustion engines.

“Our ‘Combustion Vs. Electric’ event was designed to give guests a true feel of Porsche’s latest advancements in electric mobility, while also celebrating the unmatched legacy of our combustion-engine sports cars,” said Ahed Dawood, the Brand Manager at Porsche Centre Doha.

“Performance and innovation go hand in hand at Porsche and we wanted to reflect that with our varied fleet of cars that are cutting edge in terms of both ICE and EV development,” said Dawood.

The journey took participants across Qatar, stopping at Porsche Destination Charging partner locations along the way and showing the brand’s commitment to its growing EV infrastructure.

It reinforced Porsche’s vision of a future that blends exhilarating driving with sustainable innovation, ensuring that every journey, whether powered by an ICE or an EV, remains unmistakably Porsche.

Guests also experienced local hospitality with a visit to the Al Samrya Farm and Hotel, set in the beautiful Qatari desert before the return journey back to Porsche Centre Doha Al Boraq Automobiles Co. w.l.l.
