Eight Top 10 players at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix

Eight of the world’s Top 10 players are included in the official WTA entry list for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix: the world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will be in action at the long-standing tournament in Stuttgart’s Porsche Arena from 12 to 21 April 2025 as will Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva, Jasmine Paolini, Qinwen Zheng and Emma Navarro.

She is currently turning the tennis world upside down. After triumphing at the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, the only 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva has set another milestone on her rise to the very top. It is the biggest win of her breathtakingly steep career after having won the Masters in Dubai in February. She has as a result broken into the Top 10 for the first time. At the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in the week immediately before Easter, the current No. 6, who partnered Diana Shnaider to the doubles silver medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, will be making her Stuttgart debut. She is one of a total of eight Top 10 players.

Aryna Sabalenka will also be competing in the Porsche Arena. The world No. 1 and 2024 Player of the Year – she succumbed to Mirra Andreeva in the Indian Wells final – has already appeared in the Stuttgart final on three occasions. She wants to finally claim the main prize for the victor at her fourth attempt. Awaiting this year’s winner of the singles final, which will be held on Easter Monday 21 April as there will be no play on Good Friday, is a Porsche Macan Turbo.

Another welcome regular in the Porsche Arena is Iga Swiatek. With 22 WTA titles to her name, the world No. 2 is one of the most successful players of our time. The Pole, who represents Porsche in her home country as a “Friend of the Brand”, won the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 2022 and 2023. As Coco Gauff (No. 3) and Jessica Pegula (No. 4), the superstars from the USA, will also be participating at the long-standing Stuttgart tournament, it means the Top 4 in the latest world rankings will be in action in the city – Coco Gauff triumphed at the 2023 US Open and in 2024 at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. Jessica Pegula claimed the Austin title this year.

“A special honour for our tournament”

“Our spectators can look forward to top-class tennis in the Porsche Arena again this year,” says Tournament Director Markus Günthardt. “The fact that the best four players in the world will be coming here along with a total of eight out of the Top 10 is a special honour for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, and it’s something we can be proud of.”

The list of the other Top 10 players set to play in the Porsche Arena is headed by Jasmine Paolini. World ranked No. 7, the Italian was the runner-up at the Grand Slams at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Together with Sara Errani, she won the doubles at the Olympic Games in Paris. Qinwen Zheng also fulfilled her dream of winning gold in the metropolis on the River Seine as the 22-year-old Chinese became the Olympic singles champion. In 2024, her most successful season to date, she won the WTA tournaments in Tokyo and Palermo. At the Australian Open, the world No. 9 reached her maiden Grand Slam final and was the runner-up at the WTA Finals in Riyadh.

Emma Navarro in Stuttgart for the first time

Emma Navarro will be making her Porsche Tennis Grand Prix debut. Voted the 2024 WTA Most Improved Player of the Year, the 23-year-old American is world ranked No. 10. After winning in Hobart last year, she claimed her second WTA title in Mérida, Mexico in 2025.

Seven other players in the Porsche Arena are listed in the world Top 20. Paula Badosa (No. 11) is well-known amongst the Stuttgart crowd. After a long injury break, the Spaniard made a successful return to the Tour in 2024 by winning her fourth career title in Washington D.C. She was also voted the “WTA Comeback Player of the Year” at the end of the season. Diana Shnaider will come to Stuttgart as the world No. 13. A four-time tournament winner in 2024 (Hong Kong, Budapest, Bad Homburg, Hua Hin), the 20-year-old is one of the most talented young stars on the Tour.

Danielle Collins is however one of the most successful experienced players. In 2024, the American (No. 15) won the WTA tournaments in Miami and Charleston. In 2022, she was the runner-up at the Australian Open. Another highly experienced and successful player is Barbora Krejcikova. The 29-year-old Czech (No. 16/8 WTA titles) will be coming to the Porsche Arena as the reigning Wimbledon champion. The group of Top 20 players is completed by Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil/No. 18), the Olympic silver medallist Donna Vekic (Croatia/No. 19) and Ekaterina Alexandrova (No. 20).

The line-up also includes Liudmila Samsonova, Clara Tauson, Jelena Ostapenko, the 2017 French Open winner, Magdalena Frech plus Elise Mertens. After being handed a wild card, Eva Lys is momentarily the only German certain of a place in the main draw. Three further wild cards are still be awarded. Four qualifiers will also earn the right for a place in the 28-strong main draw.
