25th anniversary of the Ferry Porsche Prize: Porsche honours STEM stars

Porsche AG, together with the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, has honoured outstanding achievements in the STEM field. The winners of this year’s Ferry Porsche Prize – now in its 25th year – were recognised at an event at the Weissach Development Centre.

The Ferry Porsche Prize not only celebrates outstanding academic achievements – it also aims to inspire young people to study courses and embark on careers relating to science and technology. At this year’s awards ceremony, 155 of Baden-Württemberg's highest-performing high school graduates in mathematics, physics and technology were among those who gathered.

"STEM skills are the key to the future – especially in the automotive industry," says Andreas Haffner, Member of the Executive Board for Human Resources and Social Affairs at Porsche AG. "As a sports car manufacturer, we see it as our responsibility to inspire young talent in these areas. The 25th anniversary of the Ferry Porsche Prize shows that we take this mission seriously."

Volker Schebesta, State Secretary at the Ministry of Culture in Baden-Württemberg, also paid tribute to the award winners: "The award recognises outstanding talent in the STEM field. The STEM industries are the backbone of Baden-Württemberg as a business location and the basis of our prosperity. Young people who are talented in these fields are important for the future. In order to continue to develop innovative solutions and meet the challenges of our time, we need you – as graduates of a subject from the STEM spectrum or a corresponding vocational course."

Scholarships and internships as a springboard

A highlight of the event was the awarding of six scholarships, which aim to make it easier for talented young students to continue their education. These went to: Jonas Rosenthal (Albert-Einstein-Gymnasium, Ulm), Chiara Cimino (Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, Tuttlingen), Lars Gaißer (Karl-von-Frisch-Gymnasium, Dußlingen), Lukas Mook (Gymnasium Gammertingen, Gammertingen), Luise Huppertz (Hans-Thoma-Gymnasium, Lörrach) und Marc Pasalodos Lemoine (Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, Ostfildern).

In addition, all Ferry Porsche award winners will have access to exciting entry-level opportunities at Porsche during their upcoming studies.
