South Africa | At this superior banquet, the Porsche 911 Carrera T was presented with the coveted TopGear South Africa 2025 Performance Car of the Year award. Affirming this accolade, TopGear South Africa Publisher, Avon Middleton said, ‘Speed is like an addiction. Performance, on the other hand is an art form that speaks on multiple levels. You see, speed is the singular objective of going fast. Performance is the feel, the sound, the way a car provokes emotion’.
The event once again reinforced the Award's role as a platform for recognising merit and continues to serve as a benchmark for South African motoring achievements recognising the cars, individuals, and defining moments which made the TopGear South Africa team sit up and take notice over the past year.
The motoring award categories spanned performance, innovation, usability, and, of course, people who positively impacted the industry. Christo Kruger, Porsche South Africa Public Relations Manager was awarded 2025 PR Manager of the year.
Evaluation for the awards takes place throughout the year as the TopGear South Africa editorial team reviews and ranks vehicles based on metrics including performance, ownership experience, quality, design, and innovation.
