The six-hour race at Spa-Francorchamps (BE) is far more than just the second round of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC: The race on May 6 is known as the dress rehearsal for Le Mans.
After test drives on the circuits of Valencia, Aragon, Vallelunga and Paul Ricard, Porsche now will present the new 919 Hybrid on March 31 at 14:00 hrs in public. Venue is the high-speed race track in Monza, Italy, set in the famous Royal Park close to Milan.
The two Porsche 919 Hybrids will be entering the 2017 season with the starting numbers 1 and 2 as they look to defend their title in the FIA World Endurance Championship, with the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the highlight of the series.
The 2016 motorsport season ended successfully for Porsche at the 12-hour race on the Sepang International Circuit: The second place has gone to Earl Bamber, Patrick Pilet and Nick Tandy. Their teammates have clinched fifth place at the final round.
To conclude the 2016 motor racing season, Porsche fields two 911 GT3 R from position one and three at the twelve-hour race in Sepang, the season finale of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
