Home game in the Porsche Arena: the awarding of the four main draw wild cards, has given four top German players – Eva Lys, Laura Siegemund, Tatjana Maria and Jule Niemeier – the chance to be a part of the action. “As a tournament in Germany, we naturally want to present the best German players,” says Anke Huber, the Operating Tournament Director. “Especially as they will be playing for Germany in the Billie Jean King Cup on the opening weekend of our tournament.”
Eight players from the world’s Top 10 will contest the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. Awaiting the winner of the final on Easter Monday 21 April is a Porsche Macan Turbo in Papaya Metallic as the main prize.
Eva Lys in the main draw for the second time
In making a dream start to the new season by advancing to the fourth round of the Australian Open as a lucky loser, Eva Lys not only won over the hearts of the world’s tennis fans. The 23-year-old German, who was once supported in the Porsche Talent Team, also broke into the Top 100. Now world ranked No. 76, she is currently the country’s leading player. At the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, she made it into the main draw for the first time in 2022 when she reached the second round before losing to the eventual winner Iga Swiatek.
Laura Siegemund has an advantage over most of the players at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix as she knows the feeling of being given the key to the winner’s car after the final from the Porsche CEO, Dr Oliver Blume. The local hero triumphed in front of a thrilled Porsche Arena crowd in 2017. It was one of her biggest career wins and, after Bastad in 2016, her second singles title on the WTA Tour. The 37-year-old is even more successful in doubles where she has amassed 16 WTA titles. The current world No. 81’s biggest triumphs came at the US Open in 2022 when she won the women’s doubles with Vera Zvonareva and the mixed with Mate Pavic. She also won the French Open mixed doubles title alongside Édouard Roger-Vasselin in 2024.
Tatjana Maria is looking forward to coming back home
An unforgettable day in Tatjana Maria’s career is 7 July 2022. It is the day that the mother of two, who had previously won over the hearts of the fans with her fantastic performances, faced her friend Ons Jabeur in the Wimbledon semifinal. Despite losing, the 15,000 spectators in the sold-out Centre Court rapturously cheered her off court. Tatjana Maria, who has recorded three career WTA titles (Mallorca 2018, Bogota 2022, 2023), has twice managed to return to the Tour successfully after giving birth. She has been living with her family for many years now in Florida but has never lost contact to Swabia, the surrounding region where she grew up. “The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix,” she says, “is for me still my home tournament.”
Jule Niemeier is one of the young players in which German women’s tennis is pinning its hopes. Before the 25-year-old celebrated her biggest career success as a quarterfinalist at Wimbledon in 2022, she claimed her first WTA Challenger title in Makarska and broke into the Top 100. She was supported in the Porsche Talent Team at the time. Later at the US Open, she went on to reach the round of the last 16. Since then, she has had to overcome some setbacks. However, she is a fighter and has always returned after injury lay-offs. Playing in front of her home audience in the Porsche Arena, she will be looking to present herself in her old form.
Kick & Serve: VfB Stuttgart meets Porsche Tennis
Sport and fun in the Porsche Arena: under the motto “Kick & Serve: VfB Stuttgart meets Porsche Tennis”, an entertaining mixed doubles exhibition event will mark the highlight on the first day of main draw matches on Centre Court at 5.30 pm on Monday, 14 April. The three competing pairings each consist of a footballer and a tennis player. In action from the Porsche partner club VfB Stuttgart will be three former top players – Cacau, Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Fernando Meira. At their sides will be the tennis players Andrea Petkovic, Eva Lys and Laura Siegemund. Two champions tie-breaks will be followed by two sets of football tennis – both as round robins. Objects selected by chance will respectively provide obstacles and produce thrilling elements of surprise.

Porsche in Tennis
The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is the flagship of Porsche’s worldwide involvement in women’s tennis. First played in Filderstadt in 1978, the long-standing Stuttgart tournament has been held in the city’s Porsche Arena since 2006. It stands for tradition and innovation, as does the Porsche brand. As the most loyal sponsor of women’s international tennis, Porsche has accompanied the WTA’s oldest indoor event right from the start. Furthermore, Porsche has been supporting women’s tennis internationally for years. Iga Swiatek and Maria Sakkari are “Friends of the Brand” in their home countries. Porsche has been a premium partner of the “Deutsche Tennis Bund” (DTB – German Tennis Association) since 2012 and is committed to fostering up-and-coming players in the Porsche Talent Team and the Porsche Junior Team.
