Spectacular season-opener and eight race weekends on great racetracks

The Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland racing calendar is set for the 2022 season: The programme includes eight weekends with 16 races on four German tracks and four European Formula 1 circuits.

Six rounds of the German one-make cup series will be contested as support to the ADAC GT Masters. Drivers and teams can look forward to a spectacular start to the 33rd season with a spectacular race weekend as part of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Moreover, Italy’s Imola racetrack hosts the Carrera Cup alongside the DTM.

Partnership with the ADAC GT Masters

“We’re looking forward to continuing our trusted partnership with the ADAC GT Masters this coming season. The German GT Championship offers a professional setting and represents top-class motorsport. As one of the most successful training platforms for young racing drivers, the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland and the ADAC GT Masters are the perfect fit,” says Alexander Pollich, CEO of Porsche Deutschland GmbH. The one-make cup has run as support to most of the GT3 series events since 2018.

Two sprint races over 30 minutes plus an extra lap will be contested on each race weekend. After the opening round at Spa-Francorchamps, the one-make cup travels to the Red Bull Ring (Austria), the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari Imola (Italy) and the Circuit Zandvoort (Netherlands). In the second half of the season, the Porsche one-make series heads to the Nürburgring, the Lausitzring and the Sachsenring. The Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg hosts the finale.

Since the 1990 debut season, technically identical Porsche 911 GT3 Cup racers have been fielded in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland. This season, teams and drivers competed in the seventh generation of the world’s best-selling racing car. The latest 510 PS model is the first racing version based on the 992 generation Porsche. After its successful debut season, the competition car will be run in next year’s one-make cup again.
