Inner balance for a successful golf swing: Porsche Golf Circle members from four continents enjoyed some amazing days in Thailand at the four-day “Porsche Golf Circle x The Harmony of Swing & Soul” event. The event, which was sold out within a few hours, opened up new perspectives for Porsche customers who are golf and yoga enthusiasts – and the knowledge that focus and control through a calmed spirit, inner peace and a strengthened body leads to a dynamic swing on the golf course.
“I’ve had many lovely moments with the Porsche Golf Circle,” said Circle member Nana Pan, “This time everything was even more special.” Right from the start, the event was an inspiring journey to new shores for the Community, quite literally too as the guests were ferried to the little island in water taxis. “The little boats, the mini-island just for us – that was a wow effect,” enthused participant Andrea Binkowska from Germany.
Surrounded by turquoise seas, tranquil beaches and palm trees, the group learned about just what fuses golf and yoga at the Porsche Golf Circle Body & Mind Sala in the Cape Fahn Hotel. Shortly after sunrise, the participants started the day with yoga not far from the waves. Internationally renowned yoga teachers guided the groups. The exercises to establish a constructive breathing technique and gain increased mobility were specially designed for the Community and the golf challenge. They also specifically prepared the participants for the rounds at the Santiburi Samui Country Club. “Yoga was a challenge,” said participant Warren Li Shing Tit from Mauritius. “But I think it really helps a lot with concentration and mobility.” And Andrea Binkowska thought: ”I think the combination is super.”
Out on the course, the members were taught about focusing on the challenge they were facing – and were visibly surprised by the results. “Yoga for sure gives us the better control of the body. But it's not only about body, it's mainly about our mental. I fully support the idea of putting yoga even in every event,” said participant Pawel Kacprowicz from Poland. Yoga teacher Joel Leanders was also thrilled by his proteges who were open to new ideas and prepared to soak up everything: “It was wonderful seeing everything going so well.”
The Community duly enjoyed the picturesque golf experience amidst a coconut plantation with a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean in a quite special way. The inner balance accompanied them during two Porsche Golf Circle tournaments on the challenging course built spectacularly into an eye-catching hillside.
“It’s important for us to continually open up new themes for the Porsche Golf Circle, ones that inspire and therefore intensify the experiencing of our passions of golf and Porsche. It also helps us to reach out to many differing customer groups,” says Carolin Kunz, Global Community Management at Porsche AG. “The Community has embraced this event fantastically and shown that the combination of golf and themes involving body, mind and soul is a perfect match.”
An exceptional spirit once again developed amongst the members present from all over the world – from Mauritius to China and USA over to Europa. “The new friendships that are made here are incredible,” exclaimed Nana Pan from Germany. “We’re already looking forward to the next Porsche Golf Circle events.” Compatriot Robert Görsch also highlighted the specialness of everything when the Community comes together: “There are so many good moments when you meet people from all over the world here. That's truly one thing that makes it unique.”
