A season of unbeatable racing action

Porsche Motorsport GB  – To whet our appetites for a new season of Porsche GB racing, here’s a reminder of last year’s highlights in both series.

Porsche Carrera Cup GB marked its 20th season in 2022 with the arrival of the latest generation of 911 racing car – the 510 PS ‘Type 992’ GT3 Cup. Plus the fastest single-marque GT racing championship in the UK also welcomed a new Porsche Junior for 2022 and 2023 – Adam Smalley.

Smalley made an instant impact, winning on his debut at Donington Park, while the weekend also signalled the intentions of returnee Matthew Graham, who won Round 2. Brands Hatch saw victories for Will Martin and Kiern Jewiss, establishing a four-way championship tussle.

Jewiss took two wins at the penultimate weekend at Silverstone, leaving him with a points advantage over Martin ahead of the Brands Hatch finale – where Jewiss drove to title glory, Smalley finishing second overall. Charles Rainford took Pro-Am category honours with an overall victory in 2022’s closing race, while Josh Stanton took the Am trophy.

Using the 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, Porsche Visit Cayman Islands Sprint Challenge GB entered its third season with a mix of familiar names and talented newcomers in both Pro and Am categories, racing in support of the British Touring Car Championship, British GT Championship and Porsche Club GB Motorsport.

The fastest single-marque GT racing series in the UK marked its 20th season

Charles Clark and Matthew Armstrong took wins on the opening Silverstone weekend, while Harry Foster won twice at Thruxton. By the final weekend, Foster, Clark, Armstrong and Steve Roberts all had a chance of overall glory, with Foster taking the title at the penultimate race. A perfect final weekend for Cavers saw him claim overall Am category honours from rival Rupert Laslett. Each champion receives a holiday for two to the Cayman Islands courtesy of the title partner.
