ATLANTA. The interior design and user experience of the Porsche Macan Electric have been recognized with a Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX award, with Wards judges comparing the interior design to a “finely tailored suit,” and praising the vehicle for offering “one of the most pleasant experiences,” they’d tested. Featuring a modern and functional interior layout and an infotainment system with a new operating system that brought increased functionality, the Macan Electric delivers a mature design language and usability that Porsche is renowned for.

"Crisp, clean lines and everything neatly in its place. The Macan felt like a finely tailored suit. The cabin is purposely devoid of any excess, putting it spot on with the driver-focused Porsche brand,” said Wards judge Dave Zoia.

The Macan is equipped with the latest-generation display and operating concept with up to three screens, including the free-standing 12.6-inch, curved instrument cluster and the 10.9-inch central display. On the passenger side, an optional 10.9-inch screen provides the front seat passenger the ability to view driving information, adjust settings on the infotainment system, stream video content, or even play games while the car is being driven.

Inside the Macan Electric

“The Porsche Macan combines old-school interior elegance with well-executed modern technology. And it’s convenient, too. For EVs, one common pain point is which side the charge port lies and how you must park to reach the plug. Not here, as there’s a port on both sides. All in all, the Macan provided one of the most pleasant experiences we tested,” said Wards judge Robin Warner.

The standard Porsche Communication Management (PCM) in the new Macan takes computing performance to a new level. For example, the “Hey Porsche” voice assistant suggests routes, including charging stops, at lightning speed. In the new Porsche App Center, passengers can directly access popular apps from third-party providers and install them directly in the new Macan. The new-generation infotainment system is based on Android Automotive OS and is also compatible with Apple Car Play.

The Porsche Driver Experience, also includes an optional head-up display with augmented reality technology. Virtual elements such as navigation arrows are visually integrated into the real world. The image appears to the driver at a distance of 32.8 feet and corresponds to the size of an 87-inch display.

“I’d like to thank Wards for this recognition,” said Timo Resch, CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “Since the beginning of the Macan, it has always surprised its owners with its functionality and driving dynamics. I’m delighted to see Wards acknowledge the advancements we have made in not only design and quality, but also the infotainment and the overall ease of use.”
