South Africa | Porsche has fundamentally upgraded the iconic 911 sports car. The new 911 Carrera GTS is the first street-legal 911 equipped with a super-lightweight performance hybrid, a concept based on a wealth of experience gained from motorsport.
The new 911 Carrera GTS range is equipped with a 3.6 litre flat-six engine. With Launch Control it takes the coupe variant just 3.0 seconds to reach 100 km/h and achieves a top speed of 312 km/h. In total, the drive system output is 398 kW or 532 hp with 610 Nm of torque.
Porsche South Africa hosted a media driving event in the Western Cape region for selected journalists to introduce this performance hybrid 911 to a national audience.
The Western Cape region offers some of the most scenic, twisty roads in the world – perfect for a spirited drive in the 911 Carrera GTS. More than one participant at the event commented that it was ‘the best launch I’ve ever been on.
