South Africa | South-africanized German Dieter Losskarn settled in the Cape 30 years ago. Now he went back to his roots. Not only did he get married, but he also chose a brand-new yellow Porsche Boxster Spyder RS as the perfect honeymoon trip companion for Franziska and himself.

On a 1500 km long road trip the newlyweds explored Franconia, in the Northern part of Bavaria, often described as the Tuscany of Germany. While the two enjoyed the friendly hospitality, beautiful overnight stays and great food and wine, the mostly topless RS couldn’t get enough of the German summer and all the stunning little, winding roads this part of its country of origin has to offer. Initially being worried about the soft top handling, Franziska & Dieter quickly managed to put it off and on in less than two minutes. Compared to the ‘normal’ Boxster this roof is 16kg lighter. With those stunning lines and GT Carrera humps in the rear, the car is a design masterpiece. But the most distinguished feature of the Spyder RS is the audio drama it offers to its audience of two. Breathing in air stertorously right next to the passenger’s ears, followed by a glorious, crescendo screeching - as long as the driver keeps accelerating. A uniquely satisfying experience.
