Dubai | Porsche brought art to life in Dubai with the completion of a unique pop art-inspired, life-sized 911 that began at Icons of Porsche in November. Guests of Porsche Centre Dubai together with artisan coffee roaster and café, DRVN by Porsche, experienced watching art come to life on July 20, when German pop artist, Tobias Schoberth, a.k.a Toskill, transformed the second half of a classic Porsche 911 which he began working on during last November’s Icons of Porsche, to finish the one-of-a-kind masterpiece before their very eyes.

The collaboration with the world renowned Toskill underscores Porsche’s commitment to supporting and appreciating art, reflecting Porsche Dubai’s dedication to fostering creative partnerships and enhancing the Porsche brand through cultural engagement activities such as Icons of Porsche, DRVN by Porsche and now with the German artist, Toskill.

During the evening guests had the chance to interact with Toskill as he finished the artwork and also received personally signed art giveaways.

Art has always played a major part in Toskill’s life. Never limited to one type of creativity, he experimented with many forms until he discovered a passion for graffiti and pop art and blended it with his other love for cars. As a fully trained Audi mechanic in Germany at the time, it wasn’t long before the stylish, swept back lines of the Porsche 911 caught his attention as a potential and daring canvas.

After quitting his day job as a mechanic, Toskill turned to art full time with his work now hanging in the living rooms of stars around the world such as Justin Bieber, Turkish-German rapper Eko Fresh and comedian Felix Lobrecht.

Last November at Icons of Porsche in the Dubai Design District, he went one step further by hanging a full scale Porsche 911 on a wall to paint one side in his trademark bright colours and eye-catching motifs and has now finished the other side at the uniquely entertaining evening hosted by DRVN by Porsche, which once again showcased Porsche’s innovative spirit and ability to blend artistry with automotive excellence.
