The defining moment in his racing career happened in the autumn of 2011: the Dane pitted himself against many other talented young hopefuls from around the world at a gruelling selection process and was accepted into the youth development programme as a Porsche Junior. As an enthusiastic hobby footballer, he is accustomed to taking a pass and turning it into a goal, and that is exactly what he did in the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland: With consistently good performances and a win at Hockenheim, he grabbed his chance and climbed the ladder into the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. In 2013 he promptly won the rookie classification and the race on the Nürburgring. This earned him a contract as a Porsche works driver. In his maiden 2014 season, he promptly won the 12 Hours of Sebring. 2018 was a major year for the composed resident of Great Britain: Christensen won the Le Mans 24-hour race.
