In the final event of the European clay court season, the Porsche Team Germany player defeated the South African Chanelle Scheepers 6-3, 7-6 (7-3) in Sunday’s final. Having won the Hobart tournament in 2012 and Paris in 2013, it was her first win this year. She will now move up 19 places in the WTA ranking to return to the top 50 as the number 42.

Only a week ago, her Porsche Team Germany teammate Andrea Petkovic won the WTA tournament in Bad Gastein, Austria.
