Porsche has recognised outstanding achievements over the 2015 season at the Night of Champions motorsport gala in Weissach on Saturday. On this occasion, the Porsche CEO, Oliver Blume, provided the first prospects for the upcoming season.
All the six works drivers who have been competing regularly in the Porsche 919 Hybrid are going to race again in the 2016 FIA WEC. In the 24 hours of Le Mans Porsche will enter two instead of their recent three LMP1 cars.
Three characters, one title: By finishing fifth at the 6 Hours of Bahrain, the three Porsche works drivers Bernhard, Hartley and Webber have won the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship drivers’ title.
After Porsche secured its first manufacturers’ world championship since 1986 on November 1 in Shanghai, the next target is to try and take the drivers’ title at the FIA World Endurance Championship’s finale on November 21 in Bahrain.
Porsche is World Champion. By bringing home another race win in the penultimate round of the championship at the six hours race, Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber secured the manufactures’ title.
